Dr. Hilda Ho

Dr. Hilda Ho is passionate about helping parents better understand their child’s behaviour and providing compassionate, timely assessments so families can access appropriate interventions. She believes in empowering parents with knowledge and support, enabling them to advocate effectively for their children. Dr. Ho is fluent in English and conversational Cantonese.

An experienced clinician and researcher in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions, Dr. Ho offers expertise based on a decade of specialized clinical training in gold-standard assessment tools and evidence-based interventions. She is one of the few registered psychologists in Canada to have completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the early diagnosis of autism. Dr. Ho’s background includes training at leading children’s hospitals in both the U.S. and Canada, including the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (California) and Children’s Hospital – London Health Sciences Centre (Ontario). She also previously worked as a staff psychologist at Sunny Hill Health Centre at BC Children’s Hospital, where she supported children with complex developmental needs and completed autism assessments as a Qualified Specialist through the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN).

Dr. Ho has advanced clinical expertise in the evaluation and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in pediatric populations (ages 2–16). Her comprehensive evaluations meet B.C. diagnostic standards and offer meaningful insight into a child’s developmental profile and adaptive functioning to guide effective intervention planning. Feedback is typically provided on the same day to minimize delays in accessing services, and final reports are usually completed within two weeks.

In addition to autism assessments, Dr. Ho provides:

• Psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments for ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual developmental disorder, and other neurodevelopmental concerns

• Therapy for children and youth (ages 8+) experiencing anxiety, stress, or low mood

• Parent consultations and training for families of autistic children or those seeking guidance on whether an assessment is needed

Dr. Ho is licensed in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (#2804) and the California Board of Psychology (#35537).
